Awaiting Christmas with Minimalisma

Christmas is just around the corner and this year, like every year since we live abroad, we started decorating early enough to get the festive feeling in our house before we fly away to spend holidays outside China. We think it’s never too early to start decorating, especially now that we have a toddler in the house, and crafting together is also a nice way to spend quality family time. Today we got a little carried away, we pretended we were playing on a bed of snow throwing Christmas tree balls to each other and eating all the treats of the advent calendar until Dec 24… there is nothing you can do when you crave for chocolate, and all the chocolate in the house is actually inside the advent calendar little bags 😉
I got the chance to chat with Chiara, Italian PR at Minimalisma, and she confessed that the need of anticipating the celebrations and decoration is also common in their company, not because they have toddlers around the office 😉 but because they all come from different countries, and all fly home for the holidays. So don’t be surprised if you find a Christmas tree perfectly decorated already in November!
Minimalisma loves traditions and Chiara shared that her family (like most of Italian families) combines religious and culinary traditions during Christmas:“The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Christmas is the nativity: my grandfather once, and my mother later, never missed the chance to display the little statues of the angels and the Holy Family”, Chiara says. “Sleepy or not, we never missed the Mass on Christmas Eve, and on the 25th the whole family is reunited around the table for the biggest meal of the year… an intensive workout is usually required after the holidays! What I treasure the most though are memories: surprised faces, early awakenings and excited smiles”
